Welcome Dave from TikTok

Eleanor, Powell, and Lily

The Sisters

Two of us are triplets, born alongside our brother Henry. The third is younger by about eighteen months. Together we are The Castellows.

Ellie

Lead guitar

Eleanor Balkcom

Ellie

Our sister Ellie carries the lead guitar, the instrument that frames every song and gives our harmonies a place to land.

She is one of a set of triplets, born alongside Powell and our brother Henry. That closeness shows up in the music as an instinct for where a line is going before it gets there.

Raised on the family farm and homeschooled, she learned to play the way we learned everything, at home, by ear, and in good company.

Powell

Banjo

Powell Balkcom

Powell

Our sister Powell plays the banjo, the bright thread that ties us back to our bluegrass roots.

She is the other triplet, born with Ellie and our brother Henry. Her background is in agriculture and business, grounded in the family cattle and timber farm in Georgetown.

That practical, hands on upbringing gives us our work ethic, the sense that a song, like a farm, is something you tend.

Lily

Vocals

Lily Balkcom

Lily

Our sister Lily is the lead voice, the youngest of the three of us by about eighteen months.

Before we took flight she was working toward a pilot's license, a fitting detail for a singer whose phrasing always seems to find more air and more sky.

Her voice sits at the center of our three part blend, the place where we fold into one almost angelic sound.

The blend

How three became one voice

We were raised singing in church, learning gospel harmony before we learned much else. That is the secret of our sound, three parts so tightly woven that they read as one almost angelic voice. Traditional yet modern, authentic yet harnessed. It is the sort of blend you cannot rehearse into being. You have to grow up inside it.
